1.Law Firm background
The Legal Code was founded in 2019 with the Practice Law Office Registration Certificate number 031/គម-កវ/19, dated 11 February 2019, of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in the form of a law office and was officially launched on 06 March 2019 based in Phnom Penh capital. The Legal Code was solely established by a founder, attorney at law, Mr. MOURN SIENGLY who is a member of the Bar Association and also a member of the Legal Research and Advisory Team of Samdech Techo Sen’s Voluntary Lawyers Group, as well as attorney at law for the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia. The Legal Code has indeed brought together numerous resourceful attorneys at law to expand and deliver the highest quality and customized legal services.
The Legal Code has so far been striving to continuously develop into a recognized law office in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Legal Code has, in fact, been trusted by both local and foreign investors and businessmen, as well as by other private clients seeking legal assistance. The Legal Code’s lawyers, legal advisers and staff have extensive legal training both locally and abroad, on the rule of national and international laws.
The rapid development of the Legal Code in a short period of time can be attributed to the overwhelming support from clients and other backgrounds, which ultimately made it a professional law firm of such highly professional standards as evidenced in the Practice Law Office Registration Certificate number 231/គម-កវ/20, dated 01 December 2020, of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in the form as a law firm. The Legal Code has undoubtedly employed practicing lawyers possessing competence, knowledge and experience in the commercial, civil, criminal, labor fields and many other areas.
2. Goals and vision
- Assist and defence the legitimate interests of clients with high efficiency and quality in all cases and at all times.
- Improve compliance with the code of professional ethics in the operation of legal services.
- Participate in humanitarian activities through free sharing of legal knowledge, training, broader dissemination of legal knowledge via various means, and the establishment of an electronic library of the Legal Code (E-Library) to help promote the reading of books among law students and the general public from all walks of life to raise awareness of Cambodia’s legal aspects in order to contribute more successfully to the development of a society governed by the rule of law.
- Collaborate with relevant public and private organizations and bodies to promote and enhance a broader understanding of the laws in Cambodia and other legal activities for the benefit of legal education.
- Gather competent national or international lawyers for the purpose of development or cooperation to develop the legal field in Cambodia.
- Strengthen the legal profession in Cambodia in accordance with the standards for delivering high quality legal services and related secondary services, as well as to be recognized both locally and abroad within the framework of the code of professional ethics.
- Engage in humanitarian activities by providing free legal aid to the poor in the protection of their rights and interests.
3. Professional principles
